Santa!

I hope the real Santa would visit me tonight and grant me the gift I’ve been hoping for the whole year ‘round.

It’s my first time to be away from my family on Christmas. Sigh. And living on your own with no special someone to celebrate it with, makes life lonelier.. I won’t let myself dwell on these downbeat thoughts.. Christmas is just too joyful to pass up, besides I’m still thankful that I have handful of friends to celebrate the Christmas Eve with.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas everyone and God bless! 

Gossip Girls

I miss our fun get-togethers.
The endless stories and gossips about our lives and other people’s lives.
I miss how we share our dreams and aspirations.
On how to get the right guy or on how to be rich and fabulous.

In rare times that we ran out of stories,
I miss how we just bully each other without getting pissed and upset.
I miss the complements we throw at each other,
may it be our outfits, our new nail color or our new haircut.
On the other hand, I also miss how brutally honest we can be.

Inspite the distance, im still thankful to have them.
These are my girlfriends that I so dearly miss.
Hugs and kisses to you girlies.

Black is the new pink.

Jayda was right, pink is was my color. From my high school days to my early working days, my closet would be dominated with nothing but pink. This color makes me happy and there’s a certain comfort
that I get when im wearing this shade.
that's until I met black.
I’ve never been more comfortable wearing black.
its like my refuge when Im having a bad day, my cushion when I feel plump, and my added confidence when I feel beautiful.
You can never go wrong with black, especially if it’s the lbd that were talking about. It can be mixed and matched with any other hues. It can make your face stand out and the most of all,
it can help you cover your flab. Fantastic.

P.S.
I had fun joining Indarapatra's LBD challenge.
Thanks for the wonderful words Jayda. Lots of love.

And of course, joining the challenge wouldn’t be possible
without the people behind these pictures.

The photographer and the first lady.
Thanks a bunch, till our next photo shoot and ice cream spree. 

Steals and Bargains

If there’s one thing Singapore would never run out of,
it would be a good SALE.
Different brands from clothing to gadgets to home decors offer discounts all-year round. So If you’re eyeing for that particular suede shoes this month and your budget is a bit scarce.. just wait for the next month
or two and it will definitely be on sale.

This month was a bit of a splurge. I almost spent my whole pay check shopping and wandering from one warehouse sale to another.
First was the Loreal and Maybelline warehouse sale at Expo last Nov 15-17.

Here are my grabs.

Nothing beats a good foundation so I just bought a couple of them so I can have variety to choose from.

Then we went to Zara Warehouse sale at Mcpherson Rd last Nov 25-27. Prices range from $5-49. All shoes were priced at $15. Really cheap!!

My steals?

Silver skirt that can be worn as top too. Black sandals for just $15
(original price is $89.90). and a black boat-neck top. I also got a tester-pack perfume for $10 for him. <3

I was expecting to see bags but the sale was more on clothes and a bit of shoes. No fitting rooms provided so you have to really think of ways to fit the clothes without getting peeped on. 

And finally, the much awaited yearly IT Show in Singapore was held in Expo last Nov 25-28.
I got myself the pink camera i've have been lusting for the past weeks. Yey!!

Oh, and the suede shoes that I mentioned earlier. Here it is.

Got if for $20. Harhar. :)

Bag Love

i soo love bags.
well, do you know a girl who doesn’t?
aside from diamonds,
shoes and bags are certainly girls second bestfriend.
We can never leave home without ‘em. A stylish bag can perk up the simplest outfit effortlessly.

Found these gorgeous bags from Bag Lady in
Bugis at a bargain
and now, they're my new bffs. ;)
P.S.
I never thought the first bag looks like an Alexa Mulberry bag until jayda
asked me to check this post from cherry blossom girl. J

Red Pucker

I just love women who can don a red lipstick without looking like a tramp. It can make you look classy, sophisticated and sexy instantly, with the right shade of course.
You must always check the best shade for your skin tone. There are varieties of reds available, from plum red, brown red, cherry red even the “Red” red.
MAC, Bobbi Brown and Revlon are amongst the brands that has the best assortment of red lipsticks.
You can consult their crew to learn the right shade for your skin.

Me? I found my shade from MAC. Russian Red Matte.
Here it is.

I don’t know why many women are scared to try it on. Believe me, it can do wonders to your face and to your look.

Warning: Make sure to find the appropriate red that will suit you. You wouldn’t want your guy singing “im in love with a stripper” instead of “ms independent” right? :)

JB weekend

Johor Bahru is the southernmost part of Malaysia thats just one bus ride away from Singapore.
Nothing much to see and buy in this place. Just okay for an overnight trip if you're looking for an escape from the busy merlion city.
Happy weekend. :)

Happy Halloween

I bought this skirt in Chinatown for just $12.
I don’t like anything Goth, but this skirt looks so lovely on me. You can barely notice the skull prints from afar and the layers are very girly. And just perfect for Halloween.

On another note, I almost forgot it is Halloween. People don’t seem to pay much attention to it here in my location. I miss home terribly, I miss my mom’s suman and pancit, our little family reunion at my lolo and lola's graveyard every November 1st, staying up late to watch scary movies at a friends place in the same village and later find myself running as fast as I can to reach home.
oh well. so much for my halloween.

Three hits

We were in East Coast last night looking for an acupuncture/chinese clinic to have my right arm checked, i think its a bit swollen and the pain is bugging me since last Wednesday. Unfortunately. we didn’t find one, so we just settled with reflexology massage at Roxy Square for 30mins and look somewhere else to eat dinner.

And here's what we stumbled upon.

Awfully Chocolate. just reading this gives me sugar rush.

Apparently, the place consists of three eateries when you get inside.
Awfully Chocolate for desserts.
  JooJoo (japanese resto)
and Mooshi bakes (pastries and bake shop).

And here's what we had:

Chicken thigh with tare/miso - just a regular chicken barbeque.
Pork belly with quail eggs and miso
- you can barely see and taste the pork belly that's wrapped on the quail egg. tsss.

Lamb rack
-the meat is tender and succulent. cooked for a couple of hours..
i can tell. this I like.

Cold honey lime ocha (tea) -
average and ordinary tea for $3.90. expensive.

Rice with Cha-siu(pork) and egg.
-flavorful mixed rice topped with tenderloin and egg and seaweed on the side. You can eat this alone without the dishes since its very tasty. But the serving is so small and it’s a bit expensive for $3.90.

It took me sometime to pick the perfect dessert. All of them looks so delighful and heavenly..
But this is what they recommend if youre looking for over-the-top sweetness..

Boo. the white chocolate wasn’t sweet at all and the butter-based frosting is just too much.
Really disappointing. Horrible.

So-so as they say, I was not really pleased with JooJoo and definitely not with that awful chocolate…
but I was all stuffed. Diet postponed. 

Sweet teeth

No, not tooth, its teeth. I have a sweet teeth, that’s the only way I can express
or should I say overstress my love for sweets. I can pass up lunch and dinner, with a slice of chocolate cake, or a cup full of ice cream, or a bar of milk chocolate or maybe a creampuff or a crepe or a donut…
and the list goes on and on and on. That explains why I’m not thin.

We had dinner at Everything Sweets in Bugis Junction last night.
It’s an eat-all-you-can Japanese buffet serving not just Japanese sweets but Japanese dishes as well.
With a reasonable price of $15.80 for lunch and $18.80 for dinner during weekdays,
this restaurant never runs out of queue. The line is always lengthy and it would take you probably half an hour (minimum) for waiting time.

I forgot to take pictures of the food coz im too excited and too hungry to remember.
These are the only shots I have.. the after-dinner shots. 

Customers are given 80mins for the buffet. I think 80mins is a bit of a time pressure. Although, we never felt rushed, the time wouldn’t be enough to delight in each and every item on the menu.(FYI: There are 30-over desserts available. J)

Anyhow, im giving Lets Sweet a thumbs up for their oh-so-sweet and scrumptious buffet. Thanks for satisfying my daily dose of sweets, I know it’s gonna go straight down to my waist but who cares? Im hyper.

P.S. I will start dieting tomorrow. I promise on a chunky slice of blueberry cheesecake.

FIRST POST JITTERS

Im a big fan of blogs.
Fashion-blog.lifestyle blog. personal blog. dream blog.
anything-under-the-sun-blog.
A blurker indeed.
When i read blogs, it feels like we have something similar to share, may it be the same aspirations,
same sentiments or even just the same heartbeat for that dress.
There’s justsomething on these blogs that makes me feel real
as a person knowing thatim not alone with all my
grumblings or realizations about life.

I have been dying to start a blog ages ago, but the only
thing that’s stopping me from doing so is writing the first post.
I have succumbed to my excuses ofnot having time,
being too busy and just contented with discreetly admiring other blogs..
I felt that my first post should be something grand and
impressive and extraordinary.

But because of my bitchy but oh so adorable friend,
who lured me orshould is say ‘black-mail-ed’ me to
start this blog.. (blog links please)

And a bit of thoughts leading me to convince myself that
a grand firstpost is not necessary to start a blog as long
you pour down your ideas on the
what-abouts of your life...

I am now officially switching my habit,
from blurking to blogging. :)
